It was a meeting of war-brothers who had grown up listening to the same bands (possessed, bathory, venom, kreator, mercyful fate, celtic frost, hellhammer, sabbat, destruction, and dark angel), and spent their early years skipping school, drinking beer, running speed, and smoking dope.
A few years went by, and they became involved with other bands and projects (magus, bael, and absu). Dave, realizing he was getting sidetracked, broke ties with other bands in 1994, and focused on what he had set out to do from the beginning: play and write music that would be a soundtrack for the violent thoughts within his mind.
Reclusive once more, mike and Dave played constantly for the years to come.
Now the year is 2001, and they have brought on war brothers jay eimandoust and Dave Vaughan to complete the rhythm section.
Through the years of playing together, they never had a name for the band. Thinking seriously of a way to describe how they feel about music, maiestas has risen. They are masters of their own creation, fall to none, and promote vehemence, wrath, hate, anger, and destruction of all mankind.
We are very much into black metal, thrash metal and death metal. Maiestas prides its self on old school riffs maintaining an extreme sound with heavy black metal and thrash metal influences. We try not to sound like any other bands or genres we just wanna be as heavy and extreme as we can.
Maiestas then reformed in the winter of 2010 with addition hellblaster on bass. Jj returned as second guitar player, d ward stayed as main guitar and vocals, and of course bael occultus maintained his drumming post. Thus here we are in 2011 ready to destroy anything in our path. So come join our path of destruction.
On June 29th 2010, Wraith Horde Assault was released. Featuring 5 tracks captured live from the soundboard at Walter’s on Washington here in Houston, TX, this release sees the duo going full throttle with their brand of what is dubbed as wraith metal.
SPECTRAL MANIFEST have opened for old school legends like Texas death metal lords IMPRECATION, as well as new school thrash acts like VEKTOR and EXMORTUS.
In the summer of 2011, SPECTRAL MANIFEST announced the addition of bassist Ulfr Thorvaldson (ex-EPIC DEATH) to their ranks. Since that time, they have been holed up in their rehearsal studio working on material for their as yet untitled full length release as well as making an appearance at the first Building Temples From Death Fest held in Houston, TX and the second annual Gathering of Bestial Vengeance Fest in Dallas, TX.

Black metal has been sorely underrepresented in [Houston] and I think in many ways that has contributed to the stagnation of the local scene as a whole.
The guys in the recently formed Brimwylf however aim to remedy this deficit in the Houston metal scene by firing out blasts of grim Norwegian inspired black metal. Formed in the summer of 2011, Brimwylf have made some amazingly rapid strides towards making themselves known not only in Houston, but in the newly stirring American black metal scene in general through the upcoming release of their debut EP. The Metal Pigeon has had the opportunity to get a sneak preview, and be relieved! There are no shoegaze influences, hipster tendencies, nor nonsense spewing ideologies or manifestos to be found here; just raw, aggressive, razor sharp, relentless black metal fury. And they’re only getting started. - . The Metal Pigeon
