Will Makar & The Red Line are a combination of memorable pop hooks and radio-ready rock, with an unforgettable live show that comes from hard work, commitment, and the deep musical talent of the band assembled by frontman Will Makar. The 6-piece band came together in the fall of 2009 while they were all attending The Berklee College of Music in Boston, and began playing their live gigs within weeks of forming with a set list drawn from Will’s debut album as well as crowd-favorite covers by DMB, John Mayer, Jason Mraz and many others.

Will Makar and The Red Line is comprised of Corey Rupp (Berwick, PA) on lead guitar, Kazumi Shimokawa (Shrewsbury, MA) on keyboards and guitar, Adrian Sealy (Shrewsbury, MA) on bass, Ale Giuliani (Argentina) on drums, Rhett Price (Midland, TX) on sax/violin, as well as vocalist Will Makar (Houston, TX) who first came to national prominence at the age of 16 as a top 14 finalist on American Idol 5.

The band’s self-titled Double Deal Brand Records debut, produced by Kazumi Shimokawa, is a refreshing blast of energy and musicianship that is both instantly familiar and truly unique, with the first single, “Love Cliché,” beginning from a simple piano hook and growing into a truly memorable love song with a sing-along ending equally at home on the stage as it is in your headphones.

Will Makar and The Red Line have already drawn large crowds at venues as diverse as Arlene’s Grocery in New York and MoMo’s in Austin, TX, and plan to tour throughout the remainder of 2010, with summer multi-date swings through New York City, Pennsylvania, Nashville, two weeks in Texas and many hometown gigs in Boston. Fall tour dates throughout the northeast are booking now.
