Ghost Town Electric (Houston, TX)

This is the story of Melvin, the Tromaville Health Club mop boy, who inadvertently and naively trusts the hedonistic, contemptuous and vain health club members, to the point of accidentally ending up in a vat of toxic waste. The devastating results then have a transmogrification effect, his alter ego is released, and the Toxic Avenger is born, to deadly and comical results. The local mop boy is now the local Superhero, the saviour of corruption, thuggish bullies and indifference.
“Ghost Town Electric dwell comfortably in this seemingly weird zone in between Hello Master-era Priestess and Mastodon; there’s a metal edge to everything but it’s not really metal, with bits of stoner-rock, ’70s rock-and-roll, and even rootsy barroom boogie peeking ’round the sides.” - Space City Rock
Dead Roses (Houston, TX)

“We’re not just a band…..we’re a fucking tragedy” – with these immortal words, they launched into their debut set on Valentine’s Day of 2004, and H-town’s infamous DEAD ROSES were born. Since then, they have played shows with notable acts such as the DEMOLITION DOLLRODS, GLASS CANDY, DEAD MOON, BOBBY CONN, LOST SOUNDS, LES GEORGES LENINGRAD, FATAL FLYING GUILLOTINES, MEAT PUPPETS, and DIRT BOMBS. Heart broken, sleep deprived, glam damage is this group’s forte. Their formidable line-up includes former members of the LEPERS, INTROVERTS, CULTURCIDE, PAIN TEENS, TRUTH DECAY, VULGARIANS, NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE, THE HAUNTING ALLURE OF ELKE PALLENBERG’S VOID, SWARM OF ANGELS, HIGH ALMOND CONTENT, NTX PISTOLS, DISCOMFORTRON, BALACLAVAS, FUTURE BLONDES, DIAMONDS AND PEARLS, AFTER PARTY, UNGARISCHE DEUTSCHE FREUNDSCHAFT, DOTS, MYSTERY FLAVOR, and BRIDE OF PINBOT to name a few. DEAD ROSES have recorded and re-recorded their epic first release nine times, but refuse to put it out until it absolutely meets their impossibly high standards of excellence. Other activities/interests include socializing with international superstars, needlepoint, speaking with fake foreign accents, experimenting with eyeliner, and getting kicked out of ALICE COOPER concerts.
Grizzly (Houston, TX)

At the end of 2008 a Craigslist add was answered by a country style trio to enlist a singer-songwriter. In one fell swoop, singer-songwriter Chad Lyles managed to find a group of like minded musicians to help bring Grizzly to fruition. Grizzly at that point was a four piece that brought simplistic story telling and raw energy together that spanned the age and genre gaps. After a year of writing and a 3 song demo the boys in grizzly felt that there was something missing. After much debate, Chad’s long time friend and jazz student/teacher Matt Peters was recruited as a lead guitarist. This brought Grizzly to a whole new level of musicianship. With the impeccable timing of Ric’s drumming paired with Joe Varner’s catchy pocket bass lines and held down by Brian Ramsey’s solid rhythm guitar sprinkled with his own memorable melodies, Matt’s wandering leads and the raspy story telling of Chad’s vocals, Grizzly intertwines rock roots with classic country, punk and rockabilly to create a new style of Southern Americana. In the summer of 2009 Grizzly met Eric Tucker (Jesse Dayton/ Whiskey Boat) who was interested in producing a record with them. After a few months in the studio, and with the guidance of Eric, Grizzly’s first baby was born; ‘How Fast They Fade’ A six song EP, that is the culmination of the band’s hard work and late night debauchery. Looking toward the future Grizzly is currently writing new songs, playing shows and looking forward to taking their music on the road.
