PDB was formed in March 1991 by long time hetero life partners and musical collaborators, Mike Porterfield and Byron Dean. The initial interest was to find a means to get into Emo’s for free, later they discovered Emo’s was always free. Drawing on their collective influences and experiences from some of their earlier work, bands like Cretinoid, Plutonium Flatheads and the Byron Weird Group, Mike and Byron set out create a genre all their own, hence “Texas Drunk Rock” was born. Add the non bass playing talents of Steve Scholtes and the competent, metronomic drumming of Chi Chi Macoola, and PDB were able to carve their initials on the bathroom door of the Texas music scene. Through the many years and many lineup changes, but these Ill-minded sewer rockers have stayed true to their founding principals. POWER, PERFORMANCE, PERVERSION

The DollyRocker vision began in the winter of 2006 by Mike Porterfield and Steve Scholtes, both members of Houston punk rock band Poor Dumb Bastards. Eventually the lineup was completed with the addition of guitarist Dave DaVegas, former Manhole/Come On Come On vocalist AliceSin Gibson and ex Toho Ehio/I End Result drummer extradordinaire, Sean Feeley. The sounds and songs of the band are rooted in a mix of hard rock, rockabilly, outlaw country and southern blues. DollyRockers released their critically acclaimed 10 song debut CD, Hellbound Hoedown.

Friday 28 September 2012 - Moxy Go Go * Morgue City * Good Job Underground
Moxy Go Go (Houston, TX)
https://www.facebook.com/MoxyGoGo
Moxy Go Go is a Modern Rock Band from Houston, Texas fronted by Mark Fain on
guitar and vocals, Tommy Luna on Bass and Dave Ng on Drums.
These boys are anything but strangers to the music world… Mark Fain fronted the rock band Chlorine, touring globally as both headliner and as support act for such well known Rockers as Alice Cooper, Buckcherry, Fuel, Sponge, Kid Rock etc…
Tommy Luna was the first to officially come into the Moxy Go Go fray after working briefly within the Chlorine camp. Mark and Tommy became fast friends while recognizing the creative possibilities that existed between them. Tommy is both high energy and technically proficient as a Bassist, and has both worked and toured with such artists as American Idol’s Kady Malloy, Infinity’s Twin, Michael Flores, The Mighty Orq and Sarah Marie, to name but a few.
The final member to come into the mix was D. Joseph Ng, formerly of the iconic Punk Rock outfit, Latch Key Kids. By way of Providence, D. was placed right in Moxy’s face at an extremely crucial time in the band’s development and was invited into The Family virtually immediately. From the moment Mark, Tommy and D. played together, it was as if Moxy Go Go began to take on a life of it’s own. The chemistry between these players is undeniable as is the sonic dynamic … “Moxy Go Go is the kind of music I have always heard a band creating inside my head.” , says Mark.
What continues to evolve from the array of collective influences these three artists bring to the table is manic, melodic and modern. The music is peppered with heavy riffs, big melodies and stands on its own by way of originality. But hey, enough about Us… Let the music do the talking!!!
Currently the boys are writing and recording their debut record which will drop in 2012.
Thanks for stopping by!!! We look forward to seeing you all out at the next Moxy Go Go Experience!!!
Morgue City (Houston, TX)
https://www.morguecity.net/
Morgue City is a band that has gone through many many changes in sound and personnel. Like any successful project in the entertainment world it must be made up of resilient and determined people. This is the case with Morgue City. The band that has a rock attack intensity as well as a more sinister edge as it delves into the darker realms of noiz and it’s concurrent drones. Some of the Morgue City sound is very pop rock oriented but there is always a deviant grind of sound laced in the song work. The band consists of two musicians with a very long history in the music business. Founder, SPIKE the Percussionist, is known from a long list of projects that include Astrogenic Hallucinauting, Childman, Doggebi, Delicate Terror and as the music director for the world renowned flesh suspension group Constructs of Ritual Evolution – CoRE. The lead guitar and vocals are handled by Raul who is a multi instrumentalist and has a long history of studio work and touring. Raul hails from such bands as M-87 and was the former bass player for Bozo Porno Circus. The result is a musical conglomeration both hauntingly familiar and refreshingly new as well as powerful and beautifully dark. Combine the likes of everything from classical to jazz and gloom to power noiz with catchy lyrics, sophisticated beats, and musically diverse melodies and the result is Morgue City.

Monday 24 September 2012 - The Dead Exs * Backyard Beehive
The Dead Exs (New York City, NY)
https://thedeadexs.com
Getting back to the roots of rock & roll is gritty, raucous, primal and unforgiving…but it’s a hell of a lotta fun. For The Dead Exs it’s a two man journey and a revival of a spirit long gone. What started in a downtown NYC studio in 2011 as a Resurrection has become a Relovolution.
With David Pattillo’s gritty wails and garage punked slide guitar there is immediately a sense that these guys do the blues different. Backed by Wylie Wirth’s thunderous finesse of an old Ludwig kit, the two would appear to be a full band to anyone’s ears. They go from the subtle to the extreme, howlin’ all the way. Live The Dead Exs walk the line of mayhem and control that keeps u riveted, knowing that at any minute they could just rip the roof off the joint.
Playing shows with rock stalwarts like The Del Fuegos, Texas legend Ray Wylie Hubbard and female revivalists Lez Zeppelin, their songs have buzzed on Internet blogs and mixtapes, risen to the tops of twitter music charts and attracted invitations to perform for rock fashion icons like John Varvatos and Andy Hilfiger. They have swaggered on stage at the Mumford infused Communion concert series in Brooklyn and been the featured artist in a broadcast by rock legend BP Fallon. Even rock god Alice Cooper gave them a spin and a shout on his global radio show. The fans of the Deli Magazine voted them NYC Artist of The Month. Snowboard, surf and even punk rock fishing shows have added their music to episodes and trailers. You can even have your own Dead Exs Radio on Pandora.
Although Pattillo is a producer with a credit list from Robert Plant to the The Hold Steady, and The Black Crowes to Ray LaMontagne his love for the vintage raw recordings of Howlin’ Wolf and the garage rock of The Sonics inspired him to go back to his roots. He connected with venerate drum master Wylie Wirth who had been touring in Europe and the US with acclaimed blues artist Will Scott, and the Warner Bros act Sweet Lizard Illtet among others. A midnight jam ensued and The Dead Exs was born.
With their 2011 debut record Resurrection currently available at all outlets and Relovolution soon to follow in fall 2012, The Dead Exs bring their rock & roll message to the people. Motivational blues, American woes, love trouble, and fight songs for the 99%, it’s all in a days work for these New Yorkers.

Saturday 22 September 2012 - PuraPharm * The Dry Season * Disfrutalo!
PuraPharm (Houston, TX)
https://www.reverbnation.com/purapharm
Purapharm is the vision of, and was formed by, long-time singer/songwriter/guitarist, Tessa. She is now joined by bassist, and husband, Paul Adams, Niki Sims on saxophone and clarinet, and Anthony “Buffalo” Rodriguez on the beat machine, vocals, keyboards and guitar. Paul and Tessa are also the founding members of their former band, 61-Cygni (www.myspace.com/61cygni ), and they released two cd’s, “Binaural Beatings” and “Playing In The Halocline”. They played numerous shows in 61-Cygni, making a solid and original impression on the Houston music scene.
With Purapharm, they have maintained the wall of spaciousness provided by Tessa’s guitars & vocals and Paul’s thunderin’ bass groove foundations, but also added the soothing melodies of Niki’s horns and Buffalo’s hypnotic rhythms & melodies. The sound is toned down an iota from the 61-Cygni sound and is slightly more meditative, yet still maintaining the influences of bands like Curve, The Church, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins & Sonic Youth to name a few, that were ever-so present in 61-Cygni.
Purapharm is currently in the studio and in the pre-production stages of work on their debut release.
The Dry Season (Austin, TX)
https://thedryseason.com/
The Dry Season is an Austin, Texas based band that began in March of 2008 as a neo-psychedelic, post rock group combining beautiful haunting vocals, atmospheric soundscapes, swirling effects-drenched guitar, and tight dynamic arrangements. There is a highly expansive cinematic quality to their music which is well reflected in their extraordinary videos for the songs “Follow Me Down”, “Larry” and “The Car.”
In January 2009 they released, Larry, a 5-song EP and quickly piqued interests among audiences and critics alike by staging overwhelming, emotionally splendid, atmospheric performances. Their full length self titled album “The Dry Season” was released on May 15 2011 and received exceptional reviews among local and national critics and radio deejays. They then embarked on a summer tour throughout the west and central US. Several songs from the new album will be used in the upcoming climate change documentary “At Any Cost” by the award wining independent film company Joe Public Films.
The Dry Season delicately glide from hypnotic ambient textures to sonically destructive chaos with overwhelming emotion. Within the ethereal soundscapes and the rage of distortion and bombardment of feedback, you are just as likely to experience extreme emotions like sadness and beauty, lightness and darkness, chaos and peace, happiness and melancholy. It is The Dry Season’s ability to combine, intertwine and swing back and forth from such opposite extremes to create an emotional phantasmagoria that makes this band worth experiencing.
Disfrutalo! (Pasadena, TX)
https://www.reverbnation.com/disfrutalo
Disfrutalo! (enjoy it) was formed late 2009 in Pasadena/Houston Tx with three of the four remaining members of “Special Lady Friend” a Houston band now in hiatus created by Rolando Fontalvo and the late Aaron Herrera.
Disfrutalo! is a new direction in playing music for the band consisting of Elijah Kelley (bass, guitar, keyboard, didgeridoo, vocals), Rolando Fontalvo (bass, guitar, keyboard, clarinet, vocals), and Sammy Reyna (drums and percussion) and other various guest musicians. The latest addition to our live show our Joel Sinister (of InZurgo, guitar) and Gerardo Gonzales (of Rowe & Yoko Mono, percussion & vocals).
Disfrutalo! has released one 43min self released demo entitled “La ciencia del sonido furioso!” meaning “the science of furious sound” available at live shows and FREE to download . It was all recorded at Elijah’s house recorded with a Rock Band video game usb mic and a Blue Snowball usb mic and was mixed and produced by Rolando and Elijah. All of the tracks are sections of various long jam sessions from late ’09 to early ’10.
In the words of Rolando describing the band, “Our music is real; it has it’s good moments and it’s bad. It’s not always the same thing, and it’s not always nice. On stage, I even make mistakes and get angry, just like in real life. This band is our attempt at emulating the universe with a spontaneous moment of creation..as in a BigBang.”
And in the words of a young lady who had just seen Disfrutalo! for the fist time live, she said “they sound like an extraterrestrial, bio-mechanical pterodactyl”
Throughout 2010-11 Disfrutalo! have performed shows all around the Houston area at well known venues such as Dean’s, Notsuoh’s, Mango’s, Bohemeo’s, Fitzgerald’s, even Starbucks, Super Happy Fun Land, Houston Beerfest, Summerfest, a redneck bar?, Avant Garden, Numbers, a couple house parties and were nominated as “Best Instrumental/Experimental Band” in the 2010 Houston Press Music Awards, they’ve opened for the Memorials 2011 Freedom Tour, and opened for Zech’s Marquise Nov. 2011.
The bands live show started out as primarily improv and the rest is music that came from jam sessions that was kept and refined, still leaving room for new music, incense, dancing, guest musicians and some sort of interesting artistic visuals in each show.
Disfrutalo! is set to record their 1st EP with non-other than Ikey Owens of The Mars Volta/Free Moral Agents to produce and play keyboards. Tracking will be done at the beautiful 713Studios. No release date yet but it is estimated to be out around the end of January/early February, followed by a tour. Because they are a completely DIY band they are launching a Kickstarter campaign to help support funding for mixing, master, & touring.
