Mary Cutrufello (Saint Paul, MN)

Mary Cutrufello has been celebrated as a Texas honky-tonk heroine, a fiery Midwestern roots-rocker, and a powerhouse acoustic performer in her more than 20 years in the music business. The Connecticut-raised, Yale-educated Cutrufello has made critically-acclaimed records showcasing all of those facets of her identity as her musical journey has taken her from the East Coast to Houston and now to Minnesota. Her new EP, Fireflies Till They’re Gone, brings her back to the country sounds that got her “out of the ivy-covered halls and straight into the honky-tonks” two decades ago. Time has been kind to Cutrufello, both in her ability to write, and in her ability interpret the classics; her voice, now weathered but still pitch-strong, finds new depths of meaning in both her own tunes and the work of the country greats.
