For the final show of our 2012-13 season BooTown presents Turtle Turtle, a shadow puppet show that chronicles the life and times of a pet turtle who escapes to an attic for 30 years. It really happened! In Brazil! Read about it here ( https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2268119/Family-discover-missing-pet-tortoise-locked-store-room-THIRTY-YEARS-vanished-shes-alive.html).
āIām excited about using animals anthropomorphically and allegorically,ā says Emily Hynds, director/creator and co-artistic director for BooTown. She adds that for this show BooTown will experiment with a number of new-to-them technologies including multiple projectors and rolling screens to produce constantly moving images.
Hynds is joined by fellow co-artistic director Lindsay Burleson and puppeteers Larkin Elliott (River Bottom Rules, Love in the Time of Lasers) and Peter Zama (River Bottom Rules, Love in the Time of Lasers). This production will also include an original score provided by Joe Wozny (Mijo, Love in the Time of Lasers).
