The story of Haksaw Man is a strange one. It all began with too many beers, when the Wolf asked Buck Velvet what if…? What if Leather face slung a guitar as well as he slung a chainsaw? What if a werewolf could play drums? What if Frankenstein played bass? Well, in early 2010 Buck Velvet and The Wolf started Haksaw Man. They began writing songs with a love for horror movies, Texas, and rock-n-roll. But the boys needed someone on bass to round out the trio.and, as luck would have it, an old friend, Little George came back to town. Before long Haksaw Man was taking their music to the darkest, seediest bars, and beer joints in Texas. And, every time they played they were a little louder, rocked a little harder, and were making people howl at the moon. The boys aren’t fond of being called, well, anything. But some have called them garage-rock, blues-rock, surf-rock, punk-rock, rock-a-billy, and a host of other things not fit to repeat. Well, the boys figure they might as well name their music after two of the things they love. The things that started started all this… Horror Rock.

Met Dutch in a bar and asked if he’d like to start a new project because the earlier band had dissolved. Then we had a couple of drummers, singers, guitarists that didn’t fly. So me (Brent) and Dutch decided to record anyway with our old drummer (Roland Bustos) and Jerald played on a couple of songs too. Now we want to gig but needed a new drummer. Jake Hard was brought on and we decided that a 3-piece would be just what we need to play live and sound heavy as ever……… but then we decided to add another guitarist so we brought in Dutch’s son Daniel “Switch Von Erich” to round out our sound.
