BLXPLTN (Austin, TX)
https://www.blxpltn.com/

BLXPLTN (Blaxploitation) is an electro-punk music project out of Austin, TX. Power trio TaSzlin Muerte (electro drums, vocals) Jonathan “Javelin” Horstmann (bass, synth, vocals) and Khattie, aka Lil K Big Q (guitar, screams), comes together to create music that has distinct punk, industrial, and hip-hop influences. Audience reactions to live shows range from headbanging and moshing to drop-jawed, drooling disbelief. All multi-instrumentalist veterans of live performance and touring,TaSzlin, Jonathan, and Khattie are quickly gaining recognition and support both locally and nationally. They are currently completing their first full-length studio album with Autry Fulbright (…Trail of Dead, Midnight Masses) and Elliott Frazier (Ringo Deathstarr) for release in October 2014

“Taking form last spring, BLXPLTN stands out both for its future-sound take on Eighties American hardcore – compete with live electric drums – as well as effectively capturing an attitude that’s both hostile and inspiring.” -Kevin Curtin, Austin Chronicle

“The Austin-based trio blends punk fury with industrial and electrocrass sounds on “Stop and Frisk” and “Train.” Building from a minimal electro beat and distorted bass “Stop and Frisk” eviscerates the tactic. …Sounding something like Black Flag with an electronic drum kit, the trio of TaSzlin Muerte, Jonathan Hortsmann, and Khattie Q inject raw minimalism with a new fire.” -Nathan Leigh, Afropunk

SilverTongue Devil (Dallas, TX)

Our story began ages ago with the great cosmic flash that sent the stuff of stars tearing through the void, bringing life to fiery action. Everything is evolving, always growing and morphing until critical mass is met. From darkness we came, to darkness we return.

The other of utter darkness
The other unconsumed
The other of ancient tongues
The other point of view

We are no one. We come from nowhere. There have been others before us, and we are mere parts of the evolution. There are no gods or devils but those that we create in our own image. We are not believers. We seek to know, to live, and to grow stronger in body, spirit, and mind. We revere all of the arts of darkness.

“The key to joy is disobedience.” – Aleister Crowley

We are a band, a tribe. Our music is metal, the music of chaos and the void. Some have called it the devil’s music, and that is fine by us. To those that came before us and inspired us, we bestow great honor. Our desire is simple: to conquer our own limitations. We seek to thrive, to grow into the gods we choose to be. When critical mass comes we will return to nothing, but we will have become legion.

Metalloyd (Houston, TX)
https://www.reverbnation.com/metalloydtx

Metalloyd is a Heavy Metal band based out of Houston Texas. The music of Metalloyd can best be described as a combination of the band’s classic metal influences of the 80’s and a more modern aggressive sound. The band started its career in 2003 performing covers and slowly began to gain a following through its high energy shows and song selections. Once the band began writing material, the incorporation of their influences were easily recognizable, and they brought an old school feel to a drastically different music scene. With six years of performing live and writing material, Metalloyd has not lost any of the intensity that first made them stand out. The line-up is Chris Salazar on lead guitar and lead vocals, Anthony Sanchez on lead guitar and backing vocals, Luis Garcia on bass and backing vocals, and Daniel Ramos on the drums. These four metal heads all share one common dream, to continue to write and perform their music to any and all who share the same love for Heavy Metal music.

Generation Landslide (Houston, TX)

“ Trevor Wallace Houston Underground Music Examiner June 22, 2011 – Generation Landslide is Houston’s newest contestant in the race for the garage/psychedelic crown. Combining 1967 San Fransisco and Texas psych through a Strokes filter with a Dylanesque via Roky Erickson vocal style, the band got some much needed attention at this years Free Press Summer Fest. Had they existed (good Lord) 45 years ago, they would be sharing a stage with The 13th Floor Elevators and Red Krayola. But their self-description says it better than I can without hackeneyed comparisons: ” GENERATION:landslide! is a band whose voice comes from the heart and soul of Houston, TX. These people are songwriters…artists…audiophiles. They have a great passion for music and the common man. They are the champions of “garage”-rock and psychedelia; a band of seekers….” Do yourself a favor and check them out at their MySpace page. You will not be sorry. ” - Trevor Wallace – Houston Underground Music Examiner

“Generation Landslide: Their music is an orchestrated blend of inspiration that includes everything from R.E.M. to Patti Smith. The band’s collective influences has helped them develop a sound that is a calculated hodgepodge of rock and roll rhythm with an infusion of catchy pop melodies.” - Bridgette Zabak – The Houston Press-Rocks off aftermath

“Tomorrow Was Yesterday”. The 12 songs on this disc are a refreshing throwback, a collection of smart, back to basics psychedelic songs. You’ll find more genuine artistic feel and expression here and less over-produced glitz or contrived assembly-line material.” - Hollywood Steve Rangel – Houston Music News

Jared Putnam (of March Divide) (San Antonio, TX)
https://themarchdivide.com/

“Picture it. You’re based in El Paso, Texas, desiring to live your dream of a thriving musician. Then, a CD that you release with a band called Level begins to get some buzz. I mean regional radio play and indie label interest buzz. After some time building a fan base, make a name change to The Conversation, and a move to Los Angeles, you’re now leading a group of road warriors throughout U.S. and Canada, having modest record sales, and a two-album deal.

You’re also completely burnt out.

So burnt out that you return to Texas to completely unplug from the scene, get married, and start a different life. However, after playing with a few friends in Austin, the “hook” brings you back (as Blues Traveler would say). Soon, new songs would be written and a new band called The March Divide would renew your passion for performing again.

This is just a glimpse of the story of Jared Putnam, singer/songwriter of The March Divide.” - Groove Loves Melody
