Saturday 29 July 2017 - Barkerpalooza 10 feat. Hotmaghandi CD Release, Fox Parlor, Cheers to Good Problems & WellWell (doors 8pm)

Easycreditgroup.com Presents Barkerpalooza! & Hotmaghandi Album Release party!

Barkerpalooza was started between two friends who are huge music fans. A concept of a birthday party including some of their favorite local music has spawned an annual event. Prior Barkerpalooza events have included top Houston bands as well as regional and national touring acts and this year is no different.

Hotmaghandi (Houston, TX)
https://www.facebook.com/hotmagandhi/

It has been said If the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Maroon5 had a baby, it would be Hotmagandhi. Since the DNA tests proved inconclusive, this could only be based on the soulful vocals, skillful and aggressive guitar leads, danceable riffs and melodies, and a splash of playful yet funky bass lines. Coining their “Aggressive Spank Pop” sound, this Houston based band serves up the best elements of Rock, Pop, Blues, and Funk… And they serve it up HOT!

Sunday 23 July 2017 - Wallflower Records and Fuzzland Productions presents: The Rich Hands (Album Release) * The Wiggins * Bad Kids * Fake Tides (All Ages)

The Rich Hands (San Antonio, TX)
https://www.facebook.com/therichhands/

“Imagine the original Teenage Fanclub, the early ’90s Scottish alt-pop band, discovering the drunken early ’70s Faces, “Sticky Fingers” era Rolling Stones and tapping the passion of Nils Lofgren’s days in Grin. Then, stir in a much less uptight, sludgier vision of the Eagles’ countrified twang and you’ve got the Rich Hands.”-Hector Saldana (San Antonio Express-News)

“Take Care, The Rich Hands long awaited third studio release. The follow up to 2014’s Out of My Head.
Recorded over a lengthy year at Sweetheart Studios in Austin, TX (with Brothers Seth Gibbs and Jimmy Wildcat) is by far the bands most dynamic album yet. “Fast and Loose” the opening track is as catchy as it is in your face with both guitar and piano solos leaving you absolutely nostalgic channeling early Bob Seger System. The album includes several standout tracks like “Weekend Blues” the melancholy anthem for homebodies. “Junkie Queen” the slow Faces style Crooner that howls like a cat in heat. “Summer Sun” The longest running song on the album really brings it all home, and seems like a hint of what’s in store for the future of The Rich Hands. “I Gotta Move” a true ode to life on the road. Gives you a glimpse of just what it’s like to live fast and leave your worries behind. “I Can’t Go On” the last full track on the album leaves you with a taste of Exile on Main st. Era stones and a Tom Petty Rarity all chewed up and spit out with expert precision. It’s a Rock n Roll burner from start to finish. Guaranteed to be the soundtrack of your summer.”

The Wiggins (Houston, TX)
https://thewiggins.bandcamp.com/

“Jon Read is an artist and a musician. With his band, the Wiggins, he makes the kind of music that they’ll play on oldies stations fifty years from now after the plug gets pulled, the blood gets spilled, the power returns, and people get back to partying like they party right now. The Wiggins’ music is a loud, hissing mix of idiosyncratic garage and punk, and Blues”-Tex Kershcen, Indian Jewelry
