Symposium on Human Collaboration

Is the way things get done changing? In so many places of our society, collaboration and voluntary collective action are replacing centralized, competitive models. Think only of WIKI or Thingiverse where much of the world’s most valuable intelligence is shared openly among an incredible network of diverse people. Is the ability to successfully collaborate replacing the competitive models that most of us have experienced most of our lives? OR is that just bunk? In some areas of our society, collaboration is abused or discouraged and, thus, limits the possibility of a positive human relationship and experience. Why are these experiences so different? Is the new generation more collaborative than the last? Are some people wired to collaborate while others have a high need for total autonomy? Do certain types of collaboration work while others are destined for failure? We will not offer answers to these questions, INSTEAD over craft beer and a locally sourced dinner, with 30 new friends, you will hear the stories of different types of collaboration in very different types of circumstances that worked (or went horribly wrong). You will meet people in the medical, transportation, social work, conservation, farming and food manufacturing fields who all seek to understand how to optimize collaboration and improve human relationship.

Where, when and how? Easy. Having prepared and served almost 100 monthly food and beer pairing dinners, Rudyard’s chef, Joe Apa, has developed a flair for exactly this kind of event. So, join us:
